Abstract: Use of the resistivity curve for identification of oil and gas water beds in the compact conglomerate reservoir is always a headache in logging interpretation owing to the limitation of the measuring principle of conventional electric logging method. The key to logging assessment is division of the fracture section and level and effective identification of dissolved pores and cavities. Integrated assessment is made on the oil and water beds with the help of the first-hand data like gas testing and logging. This article makes in-depth study of the basic characteristics and electric characteristics of the compact conglomerate reservoirs in Caiyu Area of North China in the attempt to find a set of methods for calculation of the reservoir parameters suitable for this area. With introduction of some indicator parameters like reservoir structural parameters and secondary pore indicator parameters, accurate description ismade on the conglomerate reservoir. The results of the study have been applied to the reserves calculation and oil field development
